What is pétanque?
Pétanque (pronounced pay-TONK) is a French game similar to bocce that involves throwing metal balls called boules at a target ball called the cochonnet.
Who can play?
Pétanque was designed to be accessible to all. If you can stand in a circle and roll a ball, you can play pétanque! We have extra boules and will provide basic lessons for beginners. No need to sign up in advance – all are welcome!
Where do you play?
Charlesgate Park, at Commonwealth Ave. between Charlesgate East and Charlesgate West.
