Walking Tour of the Muddy River

April 30, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

A walking tour of the completed part of the Muddy River Restoration Project area. Come learn how the area has changed since it was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and constructed in the 1890’s, and how Boston, Brookline, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the US Army Corps of Engineers have worked together to help reduce the risk of flood damage, enhance habitat, and restore historic landscape in the 21st century. Tour led by Fran Gershwin, Chair of the Muddy River Restoration Project Maintenance and Management Oversight Committee (MMOC), and Kelly Brilliant, Executive Director of the Fenway Alliance.

Walking Tour is a program of Boston Design Week 2022, from April 26th – May 8th, and Olmsted Now, Greater Boston’s Olmsted Bicentennial – a year long celebration of the life and work of Frederick Law Olmsted.
